New Partnership with HPG Ltd. Supports Student Access to Healthy Food at Ethel Gardiner PS

As a new school year kicks off, Halton Food for Thought is proud to celebrate a new partnership with HPG Ltd. They have joined our network of Community Partners to help sponsor the Student Nutrition Program (SNP) at Ethel Gardiner PS in Georgetown. Their commitment to this program will help ensure the over 600 students at the school will have access to healthy and nutritious food at school to support their day ahead. They have recently started volunteering at the program as well, supporting the preparation and serving of food to the students.

Volunteers are key to supporting the delivery of SNPs across Halton Region, without our network of over 1,600 volunteers we would not be able to do what we do. “We have a robust program here at Ethel Gardiner and having HPG come in and support us weekly is a great,” said long-time program volunteer Andrew, “it makes it easier for me to plan the program knowing we have committed volunteers each week. The bonus of volunteering is there is no better way to see the impact of these programs than in-person. Students are grateful for what we do, and we know these meals can really make a difference in their day.”

Halton Food for Thought has a great network of Community Organizations that support the work we do. As the Halton Region continues to grow and the demand for our programs continues to rise, we are looking to expand our network to help us work towards a Halton Region where no student goes hungry at school.
