Who Can Volunteer?

Volunteers are school staff, parents, students, partner organizations and people from the community – all who dedicate hours to ensure access to our programs for the students at our partner schools. Through their dedication, over 2,000,000 meals are served each year to hungry students who benefit from increased engagement at school, connections to others and leadership opportunities for students.

Looking to volunteer?

We offer various opportunities throughout the school year, especially in the fall. Additional roles may arise based on program needs. All volunteers must complete a screening, including a VSS, with the school they wish to volunteer at.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Some of our programs can welcome small groups of individuals from the community to support their work,  up to 5 people. What is most helpful for our programs is consistent group volunteering weekly throughout the year so our Program Coordinators can plan the running of the programs. If you are not sure if you can commit to the program and would like to learn more, reach out to us at info@haltonfoodforthought.com and we would be happy to discuss the opportunity with you further to ensure there is a fit

Student Volunteer Opportunities

Our work and programs can provide volunteer opportunities to allow the students who use our programs be able to give back and get involved in their school community. All student volunteer opportunities are managed directly at the school level. Please speak with your program coordinator who manages volunteer opportunities for the program.
