From now until December 31 Halton Food for Thought (HFFT) is rallying the Halton community to help raise $5,000 to support the delivery of healthy and nutritious food at Halton schools through the Fuel Their Future Campaign. HFFT works in partnership with the community to ensure students have access to healthy and nutritious options at school to fuel their day ahead.
In Halton about 1 in 3 youth surveyed indicated they experienced some degree of food insecurity. To combat this, our programs are delivered in a universal manner where all students in a school are welcome to participate in a stigma free manner. Students are not asked to prove their need for food as we know they may arrive at school hungry for many reasons and we want all students to have access to the food they need to fuel their day ahead.
Funds raised through the Fuel Their Future Campaign support the health, wellbeing and future development of the 95,000 Halton students HFFT programs serve daily during the school year playing a key role in the school community. We know when students are fed they perform better at school, have more energy and it leads to stronger community connections.
