We are confident that she has the skills and experience necessary to drive the organization into its next stage, as we work towards a Halton Region where no student goes hungry at school.”

When speaking about joining Halton Food for Thought Aliya Kawari statesI am excited to join the staff and board of Halton Food for Thought and work together to grow and build a stronger and supportive community for the most important people in our community - our children (and their families). I am privileged and honored to be able to pick this community to call home from all the places I could live in and will do my best to lead with integrity and my utmost dedication.”

The Halton Food for Thought board and staff look forward to welcoming Aliya to the organization and working with her to continue to connect Halton students with healthy meals and snacks at school to help them reach their full potential.

About Halton Food forThought

Halton Food for Thought has been feeding Halton students for almost three decades.

Started by a grassroots group of parents who noticed that not every child at school had food in their lunch box or that many kids had food that didn’t contain enough nutrients to fuel their minds and bodies for learning. Today, Halton Food for Thought has partner programs in 152 Halton schools, providing 95,000 Halton students access to nutritious food at school - reaching 93% of Halton students.  Our programs are facilitated by over 1,600 volunteers who work with Halton Food for Thought staff to feed students in their communities.
